The diving club and its history
The diving club was founded in May 1976. Training began at Jinolický Pond, while during the winter months club members trained at the sports complex swimming pool. Shortly after its founding, the club established its first official partnership with the KSP Trutnov diving club.
On May 28, 1977, a significant event in the club's history took place – together with KSP Trutnov, members took exams in scuba diving at the Vyhnálov quarry near Chrudim. A year later, on April 1, 1978, the first open water diving training took place at the Jahodnice reservoir near Nová Paka.

One of the first inhabitants of the flooded quarry was Pepa the catfish, which grew to over two meters in length. Unfortunately, its life ended after it was killed by poachers.
Significant construction and modernization work began in 2005, when the old sheds were rebuilt and the entire building was renovated. In the fall of 2007, the new building was approved for use. This was followed by the construction of new entrances to the water and the creation of underwater attractions for divers.
The development of the complex continued in more recent history. In 2018, a new summer kitchen was built, and in 2022, the modernization of the cabins intended for accommodation began.
